2023 yippee!

The new year vibe is still fresh in the air, resolutions are flying here and there, everyone is making a list of goals they wish to achieve before the year’s end, and you don’t want to be left out.
The major reason why resolutions are made is so that we make better life decisions that will help us grow both as individuals and career-wise.
Every year, almost the whole world makes a new year resolution. Resolutions could be based on fitness, financial, religious, or personal goals.
However, making new year’s resolutions is one thing, keeping them is another.
You’ve probably been making new year’s resolutions since you could say the word “resolution”, but let’s be honest, how many of those resolutions have you kept so far?
Therefore, in the spirit of not wanting this year to be another year of unfulfilled resolutions, we’ll be talking about ways or guides on how to make and keep your new year’s resolution this time. Keep reading.
Why Do People Make New Year’s Resolutions?
No matter what your new year’s resolutions might be, you share a common reason with everyone else.
Change!
People make new year’s resolutions because they want to change, either to stop an old habit or enhance themselves. It could be by getting a new job, learning or improving on a skill, eating habits, physical appearance, financial status, lifestyle and so many other ways.
For instance, if you’re an alcoholic, you could decide to quit drinking as a new year’s resolution, or you could decide to hit the gym more times than you did last year. While one change is targeted toward stopping an old habit the other is to enhance your physique.
How to Make and Keep A New Year’s Resolution

How you make your new year’s resolutions can determine if you keep them or not, so we’ve made a guide to help you in making this year’s resolutions.
- Know Your What and Why
Take your time to meditate and discover what you need to improve on or what needs to change, then answer why you want to change those things. This will help you to understand the importance and the impact these changes can make in your life.
- Write Down Your Goals
It’s easy to forget when you don’t write them down and your new year resolution is something you don’t want to be forgetting if you’re serious about keeping them.
So instead of simply just saying the things you hope to achieve or change, writing and documenting them will help keep them better organized and easy to remember.
- Don’t Go Hard, Keep It Real and Simple
There’s a great chance of not fulfilling your new year’s resolutions if it’s a long list of closely unrealistic ideas. For instance, if you weigh 100kg, you can’t expect to fulfill new year’s resolutions like “eat only 500 calories daily, exercise 7x weekly and only eat vegetables”.
While such a plan can help you lose weight drastically, the problem with it is that it’s way too complex and you’re likely going to give up by the second week of the new year, but by keeping it real and simple, your chances of fulfilling your resolutions in increases
- Create A Blueprint
Nothing is ever successful without a plan, so create a blueprint on how to go about fulfilling your new year’s resolutions.
Again, keep it simple and take it a step at a time, maybe make it a resolution per month so you have to fulfill one resolution each month, however, if you couldn’t fulfill any in a month, don’t be hard on yourself, keep trying.
Takeaway
Basically, the key ingredient to fulfilling any goal is discipline. After you’ve made your new year’s resolutions, written them down, and created a blueprint, if you’re not disciplined, it’ll just be another year of unfulfilled resolutions.
